Deployment to Fiori Launchpad using Spaces and Pages
Pages and Spaces is part of new Layout Design of Fiori Launchpad which is available from S4H4HANA 2020 and onward on both cloud and on-Premise environment.
There are 4 main parts for space and pages.
Space- Space consists of multiple pages (to understand this can be compared to Groups)
Page - Pages consists of single or multiple sections
Section - Section consists of single or multiple tiles
Tile- Tile is used to launch the respective application
Steps to create Space and Pages
Step 1
Go to Launchpad Content Manager (Client Specific) and create a catalog.
Go to transaction /UI2/SEMOBJ to create a semantic object as below.
Go to Launchpad Designer (Client Specific) and open the catalog.
Create Target Mapping
Add the details and save the Target Mapping.
Then, go to the Tiles section and create tile.
Select App Launcher - Static and configure the tile as below.
Step 2
On the Fiori Launchpad Group select the tile ‘Manage Launchpad Spaces’
Click on the Create button to create the Space and Page. Fill out all the required details in the popup. Since we are creating Spaces and no page is available, we are selecting Also create a Page option, This will create new Page and will assign it to Spaces.
Now once Spaces and Page is created below screen will be displayed. New Page which is created is by default with Visible status.
Step 3
Once the Spaces and Page is created successfully. next step is to assign created Catalog and Space to Role.
Go to PFCG Transaction, Open Role created and follow below steps to assign Space and Catalog to Role.
Assign Catalog to Role.
Both Space and Catalog added successfully to the Role.
Assign the Role to the user.
Step 4
Once Catalog is assigned to Role, go back to Spaces and Pages and click on the Edit button.
Since we have added Catalog to Role, all available Catalogs will be available. Click on Add button to assign Tile to Page.
Once assigned, the tile will be available in the Page.
Open the Fiori Launchpad, the new Space, page and tile will be available.
