For most practical applications it is necesary to use ABAP code to facilitate tasks such as:

  • defaulting field values
  • back-end (SAP) validations
  • determining approvers
  • updating master data and/or performing SAP transactions

For this it is necessary to create an "Implementing Class" using ABAP workbench

  1. /IQX/CL_FORMS_BASE_CLASS

Use SAP transaction SE24 (Class Builder) to create a sub-class of /IQX/CL_FORMS_BASE_CLASS

Step-by-step guide

  1. Start transaction SE24 and enter Object Type: /IQX/CL_FORMS_BASE_CLASS
  2. Click on Display

  3. Choose Edit→Create subclass (Shift+F1)
  4. Enter the name of your New Class

Use a class name that is meaningful to your application and follows your organizations naming standards.
In this example, ZCL_MY_IMPLEMENTATION_CLASS is used.
  5. Save and Activate the class.
  6. Set the class in the Properties of the Project in the FAB Workbench
  7. Press the 'Properties' button in the FAB Workbench
  8. Enter the class name in the 'Implementing Class' field
