Prerequisites

  • The target computer has Outlook 2016 or later installed;

  • Find out whether 32 bit or 64 bit version is installed:

    • In Outlook, choose File.

    • Select Office Account.

    • Select About Outlook

    • Note the Outlook version at the top of the dialog window.

Automatic installation

  • Push the MSI file to the workstation and install;

  • Create the HKEYthe HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IQX\OneList or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\IQX\OneListand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\IQX\OneList registry key;. Then

    • Create a string value called Url in the OneList registry key and specify the OneList URL as its value.

    • Optional, create a DWORD value called OpenLinksInDefaultBrowser in the OneList registry key with 0 (false) or 1 (true). If this value is omitted then it is defaulted to 1.

Manual installation

  • Create C:\IQX folder;

  • Unblock the zip file the extract it to the C:\IQX folder;

  • Right click on the Setup.Exe file and select Run As Administrator;

  • Complete the steps of the installation wizard;

  • Restart Outlook;

  • The OneList add-in displays the OneList Settings window when it runs for the first time;

  • Enter the OneList URL, e.g. https://iqx.onelistapprovals.com, then click the OK button;

  • The OneList add-in opens Internet Explorer with the OneList log in page;

  • Log on to OneList;

  • The OneList ribbon button becomes active and will display you active task count badge if you have any outstanding tasks;

    • If the button is not visible on the Ribbon then click the ... and find it in the OneList group then pin it to ribbon.

  • Click the OneList button to show and hide the OneList task pane in Outlook.

The MS Edge Browser Engine is blocked by anti-virus software on user’s computer

  • The user log window is blank or the OneList pane is blank.

  • The error message “Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) … at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo)” is recorded in the C:\IQX.OneList.Server\logs\outlook\current.log file.

Include the following files in the anti-virus software’s exception list:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\IQX Business Solutions\OneList\WebView2\msedgewebview2.exe

  • C:\Program Files\IQX Business Solutions\OneList\WebView2\msedgewebview2.exe
